BOOKING AND PURCHASING TICKETS : Council directive 98/41/EC – ART 5
To enhance the safety and possibility of rescue of passenger ships, this directive requires the registration of persons on board. The following information must be collected at the point of making the booking: name, first name, and age category. A proof of the reduced fare is mandatory when collecting ticket. No refund or modification of the reduced fare will be possible after the ticket issued. SNCM reserves the right to carry out checks to ensure that there is no misuse of the reduced fare. Nominated passenger must provide proof of identity at check-in; otherwise a readjustment will be applied. According to the French e-business legislation, the customer can retract his purchase in the delay of 24 hours (up to 72 hours before the crossing)

CANCELLATION OF PASSENGER AND VEHICLE PLACES
- More than 72 hours before departure: 10% of fare deducted
- Less than 72 and over 24 hours before departure: 30% of fare deducted
- Less than 24 hours before departure: 50% of fare deducted
No refund will be made where places have not been cancelled prior to the departure. On Corsica lines, in addition to the penalties a cancellation fee will be applied, calculated per person, per vehicle and per crossing.
The refund application must be made at the agency that issued the ticket. Some tickets issued at special rates are neither modifiable nor refundable.

ALTERATIONS TO PASSENGER AND VEHICLE BOOKINGS Change of departure: an alteration charge of € 3 will be applied on Corsica/Sardinia lines (€ 6 on some special rates on Corsica) and of € 10 on Algeria/Tunisia lines, calculated per person, per vehicle and per crossing. |

CABIN OR COMPARTMENT ACCOMMODATION The type of accommodation is indicated by a 4-character code, the cabin number will be marked on the boarding pas on the day of departure. The upper sleeping bunks are unsuitable for children under 6 years old (By order 19/08/95). |

Latest presentation time at embarkation check-in: Passengers with vehicle : The latest time for presentation for embarkation formalities is shown on the ticket. NB: after that time embarkation cannot be guaranteed Passengers without vehicle:On Corsica/Italy/Sardinia lines, foot passengers at least 30 minutes before departure time. On Algeria and Tunisia lines, at least 1 hour before departure time. NB: after that time embarkation cannot be guaranteed. |

TRANSPORT OF PASSENGERS UNDER 16 YEARS OLD AND PREGNANT WOMEN SNCM does not insure transport of non-accompagnied passengers under 16 years old. However on parents or legal tutors request, passengers aged of 14 und under 16 years old can travel on their own subject to parents or legal tutors authorisation. The latter must sign the "Autorisation de voyage d'un mineur non accompagné" form when boarding and release in that way the company's liability. Consequently, the company cannot be held liable for prejudicial happening that might occur in case of transport, despite the above measures, of non-accompanied passenders under 16. Pregnant women are allowed to sail when not exceeding 7 months pregnancy and subject to acceptance by the ship's medical officer. IMPORTANT: No duplicate of this document will be issued. Its loss, theft or other comparable circumstance requires the purchase of a new document, and subject to that condition it can be refunded if it has not been used before the expiration of its validity (1 year from the date it was issued). |

BOARDING PASS The document allowing access on board. It is imperative the passenger presents it at the embarkation. In the case of loss, theft or other comparable circumstance the passenger must acquire a new travel permit. The pass must be retained on board and at the end of the voyage in order to be presented when demanded or for a claim.
WARNING :In the case of a two-way ticket, the 'RETURN COUPON(S)' must at all times be kept in the travel folder following the OUTWARD embarkation formalities. Make sure you comply. Passengers benefiting from reductions must make their request before the issue of their ticket. No reduction to the fare will be allowed after the departure. All claims concerning surcharges on vehicles must be presented prior to embarkation. No refund will be allowed after the departure. Embarkation on board car-ferries of vehicles exceeding 1.8 m in height will be refused where such situation has not been declared and noted at the time of reservation. Physically-handicapped passengers should inform us of their particular difficulties at the earliest possible date. NB: You are not permitted access to your vehicle during the crossing. This is for security reasons. So, before the ship sails, remember to take with you any items necessary for your comfort during the voyage. Restaurant service at reasonable prices is available on all our ships. Boutiques exist on most vessels, with 'Duty-free' on the international lines. Reception/information bureau at your service during the crossing.

ALGERIA - TUNISIA : EMBARKATION OF VEHICLES Embarkation on our car ferries will be refused for any tourist vehicle whose height exceeds 1,8 m for Tunisia, or 1.7 m for Algeria (with the exception of 1.8 m on SNCM car ferries and the Tariq Ibn Ziyad). This is due to overloading of the gallery on the roof. Exceptionally, and providing there are places available, a concession can be made where the above heights are exceeded. In such a case, a surcharge will be levied, varying according to the service (Algeria or Tunisia): o On Algeria lines: surcharge on all vehicles with a height over 1.7 m (except 1.8 m for SNCM car ferries and the Tariq Ibn Ziyad) o On Tunisia lines: a surcharge is made - on all vehicles with a height over 1.8 m (during the season) - on all vehicles with a height over 2.3 m (all the year) The amount of the surcharge is shown in the timetables/fares documentation, It is payable to our representatives at the embarkation port only. Vehicles of over 2.3 m height will only be accepted on board with the express permission of the Captains. |
